A few dark clouds loomed over head as we drove into the city. We thought nothing of it really- it has been raining here on and off for the past three months now. We pulled up to the Legion of Honor in San Francisco where we had planned to take a few quick images before make a hike down to a special little beach in Land’s End called Mile Rock Beach. As soon as we stepped out of the car, a frigid coastal wind swept across the parking lot and sent shivers down our spine. We did our best to ignore it an focus on the beauty that was before our eyes. We were in two amazingly beautiful, one of a kind locations with a stunning couple dressed to kill. We were going to create some amazing images together- no matter what.
Our session had been rescheduled several times due to the weather. First, we pushed it a few days out…then a few weeks…then a month! Every time a new date was set- we would be hopeful to have sunny skies, but were only greeted with warnings of rain and wind each time. Finally, we landed on an early March date and were praying we wouldn’t have to reschedule yet again! I felt like everything in the universe was challenging our determination to have this shoot. So, when the most recent rescheduled date approached, saying we were nervous was an understatement. But we managed to get super lucky. Somehow, some way, we managed to have the only day for that entire week with no rain! Finally!
To Elizabeth and David- thank you for being such amazing troopers through the cold and wind! Especially you, Elizabeth. If I was freezing in a jacket and jeans- I can’t even begin to image how miserable you must have been in that light, sleeveless dress! You two had such a positive, fun, infectious energy about you. It’s so obvious that you two are deeply in love for one another. Thank you for allowing me to photograph this beautiful time in your lives. And for trusting me as we climbed down the million steps to finally reach the beautiful coast line. You two are going to make a stunning Bride and Groom in a few short months!
