Holly and Mike’s Napa Valley B.R. Cohn Winery wedding was a California dream! From the crisp white getting ready bungalows, to the gorgeous olive grove where the couple shared their first look, to the jaw-dropping amphitheater ceremony spot overlooking the vineyards, and to the sweet open-air reception space showing off the loveliest sunset- this wedding is what dreams are made of! This gorgeous Midwest couple were joined by their family, friends, and sweet pup Shea as they celebrated the beginning of their Happily Ever After!
Photographing high school sweethearts is always such a blessing. To hear and learn about my couple’s rich history has they grew up and experienced life together always humbles me! So when Tiffany and Jericho told me that they had known each other for 14 years, I knew it was going to be a session with a couple so in sync and comfortable with each other, that we would have no choice other than to have an absolute blast! Tiffany and Jericho’s engagement session at Shell Ridge Open Space in Walnut Creek was a beautiful evening spent strolling through the trees, twirling in the flower fields, and cuddling among some giant boulders.
A good friend of mine was scheduled to photograph this gorgeous couple’s ten year anniversary session, but was put on bed rest by her doctor as she nears her delivery due date with son number two. So when she asked if I would capture this beautiful couple for her in my favorite indoor location – San Francisco City Hall – I simply could not refuse! However, this session was more than any old anniversary session. This session was extra special as Stephine and Matt had tied the knot nearly ten years early in this exact same spot in City Hall! Not to mention the pair came outfitted in the most perfect attire complete with fresh florals and Steph in a stunning designer gown!
The more amazing opportunities I have to document couple’s weddings of various cultures and backgrounds, the more I fall in love with the different traditions of love. Carolin & Mike’s beautiful wedding at the Saint James Orthodox Church of Jerusalem and The Westin, San Jose was no exception to this! Their wedding was truly about two families becoming one, with some heart-warming ceremony rituals and lots (and I mean lots!) of dancing at the reception! There were golden crowns, multiple swords, and an extremely talented singer flown in all the way from Haifa, Israel who kept the party going all night long!
Adrienne & Ryan’s sunset engagement session in Vasona County Lake Park in Los Gatos was nothing short of stunning. We start our session on a gorgeous, warm summer evening just as the golden sun was starting to lower in the sky. The pair came dressed so beautifully- Adrienne in a slate blue flowy gown and Ryan in a sharp button up and slacks. But my favorite things they brought to their session was their accessories and props! Adrienne had the sweetest sun hat that made her look oh-so-romantic. Not only that but they also brought some yummy Boba drinks from their favorite spot! Keep reading to see the meaning behind the Boba!
It was a beautiful summer afternoon. Tucked away from the busy hustle and bustle of nearby city life was the gorgeous Sanborn County Park in Saratoga. As soon as you step out of your car, you can’t help but notice the towering redwood and oak trees, the gentle breeze, and the plethora of baby deer and turkeys scattered about the park, grazing away like it’s no one’s business. Katelyn and Lauren came dressed so classical and beautifully to their session with me here in a stunning cherry red dress and classic grey sweater and black slacks. The pair suggested a forest type location after previously having their photos taking along the water side. What was to follow was definitely an enchanted forest wonderland session that I won’t forget.
Nathali and Victor’s Presidio Chapel and Wayfare Tavern San Francisco wedding was a perfect blend of classic and modern. Of young love and old family traditions. Of serious life commitments and laid-back relaxation. At this wedding, you would find a gorgeous lace bridal dress, complimented with sharp tuxedos and pink bridesmaid gowns, all nestled together with family, friends, and beautiful florals in a lovely white chapel. Head to the reception and you’ll be greeted with amazing, hand crafted cocktails, a traditional American & Norwegian wedding cake, the most delicious family style dinner, and some shockingly epic dance moves from the 90+ year old grandpa! This wedding was truly a night to remember.
Tiffany and Todd’s San Francisco Sutro Baths engagement session was nothing short of magical. This gorgeous couple came dressed to kill and looked oh so perfect near the ocean waves, sharing smiles and snuggles as the golden sun set around them. Together we navigated the sweetest spots in the Sutro Baths ruins- the slightly daring, narrow, water-edged paths, the intimate little hide away between the rocks and beach, the sweep views of the grand stairs, and another romantic spot within the trees overlooking the ocean.
It was a perfect summer evening. The golden, warm sum was shining. A light breeze was dancing around the trees and ruffling the tall grasses. Families were out with the children and dogs, strolling along the Point Pinole Regional Shoreline. My couple, Gina and Jeff arrived, looking picture perfect in their outfits and beautiful smiles. This evening we would capture some gorgeous, sunny portraits of their love together!
Both Jessica and Danny were born and raised in San Francisco, so naturally they wanted their session to be in the city that brought them up and brought them together. They picked such gorgeous and diverse locations to celebrate their time together as fiancées. Our first stop was to the golden and green forest of Lovers Lane in the Presidio area- the gentle zig zag of the fallen trees making for a gorgeous photo spot. Our second stop was at the shimmering, urban Pier 7- with sweeping water and bridge views nestled right next to the skyscrapers of downtown. This second spot was extra special because Jessica’s parents had their first date at this very spot! I had so many favorites during this session, it was truly hard to choose which ones to post- i loved them all!
Tucked up on a little San Francisco hill, surrounded by towering eucalyptus trees, with a lovely view of the bay flowing down below- this is where you will find Kimi & Sean’s precious ceremony location at the Presidio Chapel. This gorgeous, white stone walled church was the most romantic and intimate place for this couple to say their “I do’s” in front of their closest friends and family. The day was complete with a joyous dinner at the Presidio Social Club and the dreamiest sunset photos of the couple, now husband and wife, snuggling in the glow of the setting sun.
Splashes of vibrant red & cherry, towering green and golden redwood trees, a sharp royal blue suit, and a stunning lace dress. Add in tons of love and laughter, a bag-pipe player AND a cellist, a special pair of chop sticks, the best First Look I’ve ever seen, and a family who really knows how to get down on the dance floor. This was the making of Vanessa and Ismael’s magical, colorful, joyful wedding at The Mountain Terrace in Woodside, CA.
This beautiful couple have been together for a whooping 8 years- going on 9! They met way back when in a dance group. Which made Marc’s plan for proposal so fitting. Both Racquel & Marc love spending time with their friends and family at Disneyland. Racquel’s favorite princess is Cinderella. So, can you guess what clever Marc did to combine their love of Disney with their dance group past?
It was a beautiful, sunny summer day in the Northern California wine country. Tucked into a little corner of Yountville, Addendum restaurant was prepping to have a very special wedding on their grounds. This cozy outdoor eatery, complete with rows of thriving garden beds, tall redwood trees, flowers and fruits trees blooming throughout was being transformed into a magical, one of a kind wedding venue. Fifty of Eliza & Dan’s closest friends and family gathered into this sweet, private spot to celebrate this couple’s commitment to one another.
Karen & Jeff really thought of it all for their nautical themed Sutro Baths San Francisco engagement. From their location of choice, to their romantic sea inspired outfits, to the awesome boat props they brought along to customize their session- it was truly one I won’t forget! It was such a joy to photograph these two under the golden California setting sun, sea breeze swirling around us as the waves crashed up on the rocky shore.
My favorite laughs are those that come from deep within. One that isn’t afraid to be seen or heard – it is just unapologetically joyful. This is what made me fall in love with my amazing couple, Kristin & John. Their smiles and their laughs are so genuine, so one of a kind, so beautiful, that they can light up an entire room. I was so honored to witness them and their loved ones enjoy the most wonderful day together at their Wedgewood Redwood Canyon wedding in Castro Valley.
When Mercedes asked me to photograph her and Nick again, this time with their little fur baby pups as a family session- I jumped with joy at the opportunity! Many may know that I am a total dog lover, and although they aren’t always the easiest to photograph compared to their human parents, I always enjoy a session that involves some puppy love. They always add a little bit of personality and a whole lot of fun into the photos! And these pups, Peppermint and Brownie, were no exception to this.
Have you ever met someone and instantly wanted to become their friend? Like within the first 30 seconds of meeting them, you could just tell they were awesome people? That’s exactly what my session with Saumya & John at Shell Ridge Open Space, Walnut Creek was like. Even with the skies dark, and rain falling- this couple showed up dressed to kill with nothing but the biggest smiles.
I headed out to the vibrant green fields of wine country on a sunny and beautiful afternoon. My destination was a gorgeous rental property tucked behind the stretching rooms of newly growing grapes on Comstock Wines in Healdsburg where my couples was waiting for me to begin their engagement session. This was my first Napa wine country type of engagement session- but I am so obsessed with these photos and know it most certainly won’t be my last!
